South Korea has called on North Korea to apologise over a landmine explosion that wounded three soldiers, according to The Guardian.
The report says the explosion occurred on 21 September during a search operation south of the border. South Korean officials said the soldiers were injured by North Korean mines.
Kang Hyun-woo, director of operations at South Korea’s joint chiefs of staff, called for an apology and measures from Pyongyang to address the incident, The Guardian reported.
The Guardian described the blast as adding to political tensions while efforts were under way to restore diplomatic channels.
